Although she was born in Texas, Chelsea's father moved his small family to the Cayman Islands when she was a young girl.
Chelsea's early years were happily spent in the occasional care of her paternal grandparents. Her love of reading was encouraged and aided by her grandmother who had an extensive collection of Barbara Cartland novels which Chelsea found most mature and entertaining. Many lazy hours were spent curled up with several books as Chelsea submerged herself into worlds of Czarinas, princesses and other privileged ladies of fiction.
Her penchant for writing was equally as obvious at a very tender age as she began to compete in essay contests, garnering awards with her descriptive prose. Chelsea spent her early years listening to the vivid stories of her grandfather, a war veteran, and received high marks in the recount of his biography . Her summers and winters were spent with her grandparents traveling the US, as their strong characters and morals were instilled in her and her younger brother, Justin.
Over the years, Chelsea's abilities to write have been put to use on her siblings' reports and homework, as Ashely & Nicholas have passed through high school into college. A very colourful family history prompted friends and family to encourage Chelsea to consider professional writing, given her natural talent of stringing words into sentences. To date she has not publicly documented her life's journey!
True to her nature of accomplishments at a young age, Chelsea married her husband, Paul, at 19 and together they welcomed twin sons, Jordan & Branden two years later. Ten years after that, her daughter, Amelia, was born and soon exhibited the family traits of storytelling and imagination that her brothers before her had displayed as youngsters.
Chelsea enjoys a quiet life with her husband of 15 years in the district of West Bay with their 3 children, horses, peacocks, chickens, cows, parrots and a cat named Zacky.
Her first published novel, Hurricane Ivan: The Experience, launched on September 12th 2009 which coincides with the 5th anniversary of Cayman's devastating head on collision with the category 5 force of nature.
Chelsea has other unfinished works which she is in the process of completing and has plans for a children's series in the near future.
